
UNESCO stated in 2015 that February 11 was the International Day of Women and Girls in Science to inspire and promote women's participation in education, training, and science and technology and recognize the critical role of girls and women in the scientific and technological communities.
At the Margarita Salas Center for Biological Research, 56% of the staff are women, working as scientific personnel, as well as in training, technical and administrative support.
To commemorate this day, the CIB Margarita Salas is launching a visibility campaign on social networks to collect the names of inspiring and referential women scientists, living or deceased, from different fields of science. You can contribute through this link and highlight your favorite women researchers in a "Cloud of Women Scientists" that we will be updating in the coming days.
