Outreach and dissemination

In recent years, there is growing concern regarding the environmental and human health problems caused by the massive production of fossil-based plastics and their mismanagement at their end of life. Furthermore, the emergence of new bioplastics in the market can generate confusion in the public as to how these residues should be treated. In the POLYBIO group, we are committed to making our research more accessible to society, and to educate and raise awareness in the general public of responsible and sustainable habits for plastics consumption.

Amongst our multiple outreach and dissemination activities, we organize interactive events for high school and vocational training students within the context of the Science and Technology Week and the European Researchers’ Night, teach laboratory classes in high schools within the TransferCiencia program, host high school student from the 4ºESO+EMPRESA program, and participate in media outlets and conferences open to the general public. We regularly update our participation in different outreach and dissemination activities in our social media accounts.
