On July 1, the awards ceremony for the Novel Supervision, the CSIC Relevant Doctoral Thesis, and the Margarita Salas Medal for the best career in supervision, granted by the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), was held. Researchers at the Margarita Salas Center for Biological Research (CIB-CSIC) Ignacio Benedicto and Vanesa Nozal have received the Novel Supervision Award and the Outstanding Doctoral Thesis, respectively.
These awards, framed in the Human Resources Excellence Strategy (HRS4R), recognize the doctoral theses carried out and defended by CSIC research staff that have stood out for their quality and impact, as well as the importance of supervision in the professional development of research staff.
The Novel Supervision Award in the Life area has recognized the work of Dr. Ignacio Benedicto in the supervision of his first doctoral thesis, highlighting his significant contribution to the career development of the predoctoral staff tutored, which was to value his personal and professional experience during the doctoral thesis period.
In the case of the Relevant Doctoral Thesis Award, institutional recognition is given to the work carried out by research personnel in training, which is fundamental for advancing knowledge and the institution. The thesis by Vanesa Nozal in the Translational Medical and Biological Chemistry group, defended in 2022 and entitled "Modulation of neurodegeneration with new multi-diane approaches: design and synthesis of innovative compounds", was awarded in the Life area.
