CIB has joined the gathering called by the Complutenses Platform for Climate
The Centro de Investigaciones biológicas has supported the call of the "Complutenses Platform for the Climate", to which it has joined since July 26th, to support the fight against the climate change and the defense of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
During the short meeting, celebrated on September 26th at 12:30, a joint statement was read "calling for answers and solutions for the seriousness and the emergency of the environmental, social and economic problems caused by what it is already a climate emergency".
The manifest highlights that "research centers cannot be oblivious to their responsibility for social information and awareness when society needs urgent political and socioeconomic decisions based on a rational interpretation of scientific evidence". In this regard, a commitment has been accepted to promote and support actions to improve the environment and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Agenda 2030.
With this gathering, CIB wanted also support the organizations that call for mobilizations for the Climate to urge the declaration the climate emergency as a national problem.
