Plant Autophagy meeting was held at CIB

This international congress is framed in the COST Action “European Network of Multidisciplinary Research and Translation of Autophagy knowledge” (TRANSAUTOPHAGY) and was held at CIB-CSIC on March 23th-24th.

The "Plant Autophagy: Improving Crop and Energy Production" meeting was chaired by Dr. Pilar S. Testillano (CIB) and brought together European labs at the cutting edge of autophagy research in plant and algae, focusing on recent advances on autophagy regulatory mechanisms, its role in plant growth, stress responses and immunity, as well as potential biotech applications aiming at improving crop and energy production.

International speakers with great prestige in the field will attend the symposium, including Richard Vierstra (St. Louis, Washington, USA), Peter Bozhkov (Uppsala, Sweden), José Pío Beltrán (Brussels, Belgium),Erika Isono (Konstanz, Germany), Tolga O. Bozkurt (London, UK), Celine Masclaux-Daubresse (Versailles, France), Tamar Avin-Wittenberg (Jerusalem, Israel), José L. Crespo (Sevilla, Spain) and Yasin F. Dagdas (Vienna, Austria)

The members of the scientific committee of the congress are Pilar S. Testillano, Nuria Sánchez-Coll (CRAG, Barcelona, Spain), Henry Batoko (Univ. Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium) and Agnieszka Sirko (IBB-PAS, Warsaw, Poland).
