Meet a Nobel Laureate at CIB
On Tuesday 6 September the “Meet a Nobel at CIB” event was celebrated at Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas, with the presence of Sir Paul Nurse, Nobel Prize in Medicine 2001, together with Leland H. Hartwell and R. Timothy Hunt, for “their discoveries of key regulators of the cell cycle".
This event, organized by young predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers of CIB, featured a large attendance and took place throughout the day with several activities.
It started with the outreach session about the Nobel Prizes of Chemistry and Medicine 2015, by Dr. Rodrigo Bermejo y Dr. Luis Rivas, respectively.
Right after, the scientific talk by Prof. Nurse, entitled “Controlling the Eukaryotic Cell Cycle”.
After the lunch, that a group of predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers could share with the Nobel Laureate, the event ended with an informal talk with Prof. Nurse, current director of Francis Crick Institute, where different aspects of research career, scientific politics and science in general were discussed.
