On February 12, the first issue of the journal ‘CSIC Investiga’ was published, a publication that was created with the aim of disseminating research and work of the group of institutes that belong to the National Spanish Research Council (CSIC).
This first issue, ‘La ciencia contra el coronavirus’, is a monograph about the pandemic caused by COVID-19 and the efforts of many CSIC centers in the research to fight against this disease, coordinated by the Interdisciplinary Thematic Platform ‘Global Health’.
The Margarita Salas Center for Biological Research is very present in this summary. Currently, 19 COVID projects are developed, including one for a vaccine, being all mentioned throughout the publication.
In addition, the fragment of an interview with Dr. Enrique J. de la Rosa, Director of the CIB Margarita Salas, is included, where he describes these ongoing projects, detailing the research of Prof. Vicente Larraga's team on a DNA plasmid-based vaccine.
