The Library of the Margarita Salas Center for Biological Research (CIB-CSIC) participates in Simurg with the digitalization of some copies belonging to the Marañón Legacy, a collection that was donated by the family of Gregorio Marañón to the Library after his death in 1960, where it has been kept ever since. Dr. Marañón was one of the promoters of the creation of the CIB in the 1950s and its first president.
The book that has been digitalized and included in the Simurg collection is Précis de pathologie internet, by F.J. Collet, which was published in Paris in 1907. The book belongs to Dr. Marañón's personal medical library (a total of 1,400 monographs) and is notable for the number of handwritten annotations by Marañón himself on its pages.
