The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) has awarded Ana Martínez, head of the Translational Medicinal and Biological Chemistry Group at the Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas Margarita Salas (CSIC), with the Margarita Salas Medal for the best career in supervision or direction of research personnel in the “senior” category. This award recognizes the importance of CSIC research staff supervision of doctoral theses or of junior researchers. Dr. Martínez's nomination came from her Ph.D. graduates.
On the other hand, Dr. Loreto Martínez has also been awarded by the CSIC with the Relevant Doctoral Thesis Award in the “Life” area. Loreto develops her research work in Prof. Martínez's group mentioned above. These awards are newly created, promoted by the Department of Postgraduate and Specialization of the CSIC, and will have an annual edition. The awards ceremony took place last Friday, February 24 at the CSIC headquarters.
