February 11, International Day of Women and Girls in Science
UNESCO stated in 2015 February 11 as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science in order to inspire and promote women's participation in education, training, and science and technology and recognize the critical role of girls and women in the scientific and technological communities.
At the Margarita Salas Center for Biological Research, 55% of the staff are women, working as scientific personnel, as well as in training, technical and administrative support.
