
The Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) have programmed, as part of their academic collaboration, the Master's degree in Pandemics, Global Health and COVID-19, promoted from the CSIC Interdisciplinary Thematic Platform Global Health.
The master's degree is under the academic direction of Dr. Margarita del Val, researcher at the Severo Ochoa Molecular Biology Center (CBMSO), and is coordinated by Dr. María Montoya, from the Margarita Salas Center for Biological Research (CIB-CSIC) and researchers Julio Pérez, Institute of Economics, Geography and Demography (IEGD-CSIC), and María Cruz Minguillón, Institute for Environmental Diagnosis and Water Studies (IDAEA-CSIC).
The program has been conceived to provide specific and multidisciplinary training related to pandemics and global health, with a focus on the generated by COVID-19, and to provide an adequate response to the health and social needs and demands of professionals (technicians, managers, analysts, trainers or planners) who are faced with complex scenarios on a daily basis.
The master's degree, which will be taken online, with live classes, will be taught between January and December 2021 and will consist of 60 credits (ECTS), divided into three modules, which may also be taken independently, as an expert title.
